7th June 2010 Charity Commission Clears Islamic Shakhsiyah Foundation of Allegations made by Andrew Gilligan

June 07, 2010 Bloggies by Administrator

The Charity Commission published its Report on the Islamic Shakhsiyah Foundation today,  and concluded (§33) that, "On the basis of the evidence the Commission sought and examined, the issues identified and considered did not give rise to regulatory concerns."

The Commission also stated (§23) that, "The Commission's assessment of the purposes and activities of the Charity is that these are acceptable for a charity advancing education within a religious ethos."

Islamic Shakhsiyah has always maintained its independence and made it clear that we have our own clearly stated objectives:

1. To advance the education of the pupils at Islamic Shakhsiyah Foundation Schools by providing and assisting in the provision of facilities.
2. The advancement of the religion of Islam in accordance with the unanimous opinions of the four main Sunni schools of Islamic jurisprudence.
3. To provide relief of financial hardship in the payment of fees and charges usually charged by ISF.

We will continue with our vital work in providing a balanced Islamic education in line with these objectives.

We would like to thank everyone from many different walks of life who defended the Islamic Shakhsiyah Foundation when it was subjected to misinformed media and PMQ attack.

Thank you for all your support.
